The stamp is designed after a painting made by Phillips Melville, which shows us the American brigantine
ANDREW DORIA. She is the vessel in the foreground, the vessel on the left not identified.
On 16 November 1776 the brigantine ANDREW DORIA bearing at her masthead the flag of the Continental
Congress arrived at St. Eustatius, and on coming to in the harbor fired a salute which by orders
of Governor de Graaf, was answered by the fort, with an honor salute of 13 guns.

The ship on the New Zealand stamp commemorating WWI is the PORT KEMBLA. 4,700 gT.
Delivered 1910 to Anglo-Australian SN Co. 4,700 gT. Transferred to Commonwealth & Dominion Line (Port Line)
upon formation in 1914.
Sunk in the Cook Strait Sept.18th 1917 by a mine laid by the raider WOLF.

Germany, more and more individual stamps are ordered from the German Post.
The variety shown above can be just one example. The first eight stamps are German
research vessels, followed by the museum ships Roald Amundsen, Bussard and
the frigate Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

From here, Seemotive reluctantly shows some new stamp sheets, which are on the market in Germany.
With these stamps, mostly published by African dwarf countries, it is probably only about "make money".
They are not suitable for an exhibition collection because of the "quick and dirty" design.
Nevertheless, there will be motif collectors who want to integrate the one or the other sheet
into their collection.
Just think of the "Titanic" collectors who want to be complete.
