She sailed on Åland shipowner Gustav Eriksson's vessels and rounded the Cape Horn 8 times.

centenary of the sinking of the "Lusitania".
In World War I, 7th May 1915, the "Lusitania" was sunk by a German submarine;
1,200 people lost their lives.

Italy, a sheet with four stamps, centenary of World War I.
The below left stamp of the sheet again enlarged. We see a very small submarine with two torpedos on deck (?).

Guinea Bissau, two souvenir sheets with five stamps, 100th anniversary Battle at the Doggerbank.
On January 24, 1915 a battle at the Doggerbank took place between warships of the German Imperial Navy
and the British Royal Navy.
From left top are depicted HMS "New Zealand", Viceadmiral Hipper with SMS "Seydlitz", Viceadmiral Beatty
with HMS "Tiger", SMS "Derfflinger"
and right HMS "Indomitable with Beatty, below SMS "Moltke".

Nigeria, two sheets with five stamps, 100th anniversary Battle at the Doggerbank.
|
Depicted are from left Admiral von Ingenohl with SMS "Graudenz", Beatty with HMS "Southampton",
Hipper with SMS "Blücher" and Admiral Goodenough with HMS "New Zealand".
Right Hipper with SMS "Blücher" and Beatty with HMS "Princess Royal".
On the stamp in the middle there is no ship name, the picture could have been taken from a
painting by Willy Stöver.

Palau, two souvenir sheets with together 32 stamps, 70th anniversary VE-Day (Victory in Europe Day) 1945,
the evacuation of Dunkirk 1940.
German forces had encircled British and French troops at Dunkirk.
The Englishman succeeded to defend the beachhead at Dunkirk,
until they had evacuated about 330,000 of about 370,000 of their soldiers.
On the the stamps we see the "Little Ships of Dunkirk", with which the transport to England succeeded.
On each stamp there is the name of the vessel, boat.

There are two ships on the stamps, the Red Cross vessel SS "Vega" and HMS "Beagle".

Depicted are the victors Eisenhower, Montgomery, Bradley and Ramsay, to it a landing craft LCA 1377
(Landing Craft, Assault).
